The Ghana Immigration Service wishes to inform the general public that the Government of Malaysia has introduced an upgraded Malaysian electronic passport (e-passport), effective 1 June 2026.
Key Information
- The upgraded Malaysian e-passport is issued in a 50-page format.
- The passport is available with a validity period of either:
- Five (5) years, or
- Ten (10) years.
- The previous Malaysian passport model remains valid until its expiry date.
Travellers, immigration officials, airlines, financial institutions, and other stakeholders are advised to take note of these changes when examining Malaysian travel documents.

Launch of Croatia’s Electronic Passport
Date: 4 June 2026
The Ghana Immigration Service announces that the Republic of Croatia has launched a new electronic passport (e-passport) model, effective 1 June 2026.
Key Information
- The newly introduced Croatian passport incorporates enhanced security features aimed at improving document integrity and reducing the risk of forgery.
- The former Croatian passport model remains valid until its expiration date.
